French students 2nd exchange travelling to Treviso with objectives to work on:

- Sports activities aiming to a better social exchange and cultural activities

- Work on accessibility problem in a city and experience handicap situation in Venice using the scenario with wheelchairs

Week plan of the week's activities

Venice City 

A day was dedicated to Venice visit: 

with 2 objectives: 

- Discovery and visit of the city

- Awareness of accessibilty issues for people with restricted mobility.

Groupe work: Issues on accessibility of people having restricted mobility 

During the week, each group had to choose a way enabling them to link Venice trains station to Saint Marc Place. From Internet searches, groups of students, listed different streets checking if they were accessible for people with a wheelchair.

The visit day, experience a situation with a wheelchair:

Each group had a wheelchair and had to check if the itinerary choosed was a good one for accessibility. In case of issues, the group had to propose an alternative itinerary, had to give informations on the issue encountered (for example: photos). At the end of the day, a numeric document was created to give it to people being in a disabled situation to give them correct and precise informations on the problem.

Communication:

We were lucky to have with us journalists from the national Italian TV "RAI". A film report was prepared from our work and was displayed in the National Italian News Programme (see video)

This permited to sensitize visitors, Public Authorities and students on the accessibility issues for people moving in a wheelchairs.

Sports activities 

Sport activities were carried out during lunchtimes for a better social exchanges. A special sport activity set up by Italian teachers.

Company visit:

During the different exchanges, our students visited companies presenting products or systems related to the home automation project

We were welcomed by the company CAME specialized in Domotics materials/products. We visited their logistics warehouse, their showroom as well as their testing laboratory on produced materials/products.

Renovation of Treviso downtown:

A public survey is carrying out in Treviso; A renovation of the old districts of the city is underway taking into account several parameters:

- reboost dynamism of the city center and businesses activity.

- enable mixity among people with possibility for disabled persons or elderly to live in flats near their families.

- enable people to keep their autonomy and stay in their flats supported by domotics equipment.

We discussed with the persons in charge of these study who presented us the project, showed us buildings this enabled us to have a better understanding of the situation and give more sense to the work which will be carried out at school on the domotics competencies.
